Another Word For...
/Another Word For Diversity: Change
In the 1950s, many girls were told what they were not allowed to do with their lives. I broke the mold and forged my own path.
————
“I want to play football.”
“No, you can be a mom.”
“I want to be a fireman.”
“No, wear a pretty dress to prom.”
I wanted desperately to reveal,
That I could leave a mark.
I’d seen both genders perform well.
I wanted to ignite a spark.
I chose to inspire others by action and pen.
So, I decided I to tell tales and teach.
Slowly at first, but then a powerhouse.
Many hundreds of folks I was able to reach.
Don’t settle for others’ expectations.
