A New Day Awaits

The sun is bright

and birds are singing

the day looks promising

yet you keep on grumbling 

I wonder

what still bothers you

for since last night 

when I tried to talk to you sweetly 

your anger resisted me

like a concrete wall

Why not welcome a new day

with a refreshed mind

let yesterday’s troubles

fade like mist under the sun

Soon the sun will rise high

and before you know it

the day will end 

but if you continue 

to hold your grudge

tonight will feel even darker

Happiness can be yours   

if you welcome it 

with a renewed mind
