A Faded Memory Comes Back To Life

This is a poem about an elderly woman remembering her wedding day as she touches a photograph.

————

As she touches the photograph with her frail fingers,

flashes of a time she had forgotten

come back to life,

as pictures unfold in her mind.

Each one in full color,

with a faint echo playing a soft melody

just like it did that very day,

so many years ago.

The smell of fragrant red roses

adorn her sitting room,

as she touches a beautiful bouquet

remembering the moment,

her father gave her away in wedlock

to an old-fashioned gentleman,

who still captures her heart today.
