Your Smile

I adore the hydrangea

in front of our porch

long ago, you planted it

its vibrant pink

always greets me

when I step outside

or return home

I miss the one who planted it,

so I linger in its presence

as if your spirit

still dwells within the blooms

It never fails to lift my heart,

and when I look at it

I almost see your smile

mingling with the flowers
