Where We Stand:
truth
the eternal charlatan
notorious chameleon of
slippery pastures
soothsayer’s elastic spasm
spews gilded promises
in goblets of gullible gold
culpable, as we are
drunk to the last brim of
lost senses, revel
in false glory
time
the silent assassin
eraser of names and dank
deeds alike, meanwhile
smirks at trophy
moments, prodigal felony of
imagined ego and swallows
brittle bits of fecundity
in its ravenous womb
in hushed perspective
silence reigns supreme
