What I Did At The Temple

I happened to visit a temple this morning.

I don’t know what I did there.

Neither did I chant prayers

nor bestowed the offerings.

I noticed a starving cow lying at the yard,

proffered her the fruits reserved for offerings.

My first invocation finished without chanting.

Again I gifted the alms

to the destitute beggars

sitting on the pavement outside the temple.

My second prayers ended without praying.

I don’t know what I did at the temple today.

Neither did I chant prayers

nor offered the offerings.
