What Beauty Is…
/“What Beauty Is (To The Geometrist)”
What beauty is (to the geometrist),
is the shape of the Golden Ratio!
Beauty is courage, the defiant fist
of a protector fear can't overthrow.
Beauty, likewise, is a prince's sworn vow,
to defend his city, child, and lady-lover.
What beauty is, is the King, who can show
Paris forgiveness (for treason discover'd).
Beauty, as well, is Hector's fame recover'd
(after the legend of Troy had been lost).
Beauty, in essence, is a sin cover'd,
and paid for, by his giv'n blood (as the due cost).
The golden ratio of Helen's perfect face,
at any rate, was the fall of the Trojan race.
