Waiting

It started raining,

I thought you will not come,

It seemed like a slight drizzle,

So, I changed my mind,

I knew you would be coming.

The passersby looked in my direction,

I decided to wait nevertheless,

I pretended as though in a reverie

I was standing,

Waiting for some revelation.

Some kids laughed and ran fast,

Some old walked cautiously and offered to help,

I waived my hand and said, “I am fine”.

Surprised they moved on,

Thinking I may be lost.

When it turned into a downpour,

I was still waiting,

I looked around but saw no one coming,

I thought you were stuck,

So I decided to wait some more…
