Undervalued

She believes it is time

They have a connection

Decides to disrobe

Discard self protection

Stands before him

Essence stripped bare

Vulnerabilities exposed

He remains unaware

Looks up once

Glances unseeing

Sight turned inwards

Carries on reading

Her soul deflates

Loneliness invades

Vines wrap heart

Creep onward, pervade

She picks up each layer

Of self preservation

Adds chain mail armour

To the collection

Dresses in haste

Mistaken once more

Precious gift undervalued

As on many occasions before
