Understatement
/Some folks believer in ghosts or spirits and others refuse to believe until something eerie and otherworldly occurs.

To say the walk down this street was eerie would be an understatement.
Melody selected this path over my repeated objections.
I said firmly: “No one in this town ever walks past these homes.”
“The rumor is that they have been haunted since the war.”
Melody retorted: “You think it’s scary but I love the architecture.”
“Ghosts don’t exist so get past your eerie emotion and enjoy yourself.”
The longer we stayed on this street, the more I felt uneasy.
The eerie sensation of being surrounded by spirits would not depart.
Before I ran away from this possessed path, I retorted.
“I’m out of here. You can stay if you wish, but I am leaving.”
Melody responded with red eyes: “Not you’re not. You are with me.”
To say I hurried down the street like a horrified hare, was not an exaggeration.
