TV Show Doctor

If I went to drama school

without my face, they’d

have laughed me out

of the place. Training

for the screen beats

going to medical school

and reading old books.

I’m a doctor on TV

and a female fantasy.

My lovers wear fur coats

with nothing underneath.

We drink great wines

while seated poolside

at Five Star hotels.

Nobody takes hot stuff

for granted. The last

time I sat in a doctor’s

waiting room, I turned

pages of a magazine

and viewed myself

looking tan and buff.

The doctor asked to see

my body. I removed my

shirt, belt and pants, as

if I were taking a costume

off. He began a fast exam.

The doctor could succeed

in a reality show, unlike me.
