Torrential rain

Steamy window

Widow's face 

Dappled in shadow

Unfathomable eyes

Ethereal apparition

Adjusts black veil

Conceals expression

Fuss, fanfare

For Town's son

Sanctimonious thug

Expert in brutalisation

She maintains appearances

Respects grieving family

Adheres to convention

Graveside hypocrisy 

But beneath

Facial shroud,

Her soul rejoices,

Dances, laughs out loud
