To Be A Feminist

Feminism is advocacy

Not for the “granting” of rights to women

For are they not already endowed with the same fundamental rights

Inherently possessed by all?

The issue being, rather, not that they lack rights

But that 

Women have been denied those rights

Which are inalienable

And must be affirmed

Feminism, then

Is advocacy to end that denial

Affirming women’s inherent, inalienable rights to:

Life

Liberty

The pursuit of happiness

Equal opportunity

Equal justice

Equal protection

Self-determination

To be a feminist

Is to be a champion of those oppressed

An upholder of Truth

A righter of injustice 

And a proponent

Of society’s highest ideals and collective aspirations:

Recognizing and insuring the rights and opportunities

Of all members of Humanity
