Therapy Between Friends

Feeling the effects of the athletic inclusion invasion happening when Paulie is spending time with newcomer Jamie Munroe, Princess Lida seeks conversational therapy with the zebra and brings up the royal bloody relationship common denominator.

Like a sturdy four-legged table the Zebra stood tall in his stall watching the time and flies. Suddenly a figure emerged outside. Turning on the light, the stranger could easily be identified.

“Princess Lida,” the Zebra thought observing the monarchy walk.

“Zebra, I have to hear myself talk and wondered if you didn’t mind.”

Being in the center of attention between two sides the zebra put his head out and gave an ear.

“It’s Prince Paulie,” Princess Lida started seated on the tack storage trunk, “he has a new toy to play with and is being a nice supporter.”

For the past few weeks, the zebra monitored the social situations from different perspectives and knew all about the kindness the family that bords him at their farm presents to the public.

“Just like me and you know Becky Sue, he is very generous by you know building my castle, and everything,” she explained, “he is a Prince, and I am a Princess, there is a serious bloody common denominator here.”

When Princess Lida stopped to take a breath, the zebra retreated towards the feed bucket,

“Hey, where are you going?” Princess Lida reached into her purse for a carrot, “here’s payment.”

Seeing the orange object, the zebra gobbled it up, “so Zebra what should I do about this athletic inclusion invasion?”

Staring into his eyes, Princess Lida found the answer, “you are right, I should spend more time with Prince Paulie.”

Ready to leave the royal highness heard something, “anybody in the barn?” Inquired a voice.

“Oh Prince Paulie,” Princess Lida answered, “it is just me having a therapy session with the zebra.”

“Well, the zebra is great for conversational therapy.”

Motionless and very quiet the zebra observed the two, including Princess Lida taking his advice. After a twenty-to-thirty-minute discussion and feeling like she had Paulie under her spell she asked, “what were you doing tonight?”

“Jamie Munroe also had therapy,” Paulie revealed, “so I massaged her ankle.”

“You did what? Where?” Princess Lida went into shock.

“The artificial turf game hurt her,” Paulie continued, “and she needed therapy.”

“Okay,” Princess Lida straightened her back, “it's getting late, and I must get back to the castle.”

“Do you want me to walk you home?”

“No,” Princess Lida replied, “I think I have had enough verbal therapy for one day and should ponder everything alone.”

“If you ever want to talk to the zebra,” Paulie offered, “he is always here.”

“You should give him a massage,” Princess Lida suggested, “he works all day.”

“Poppa does that,”

“Oh yeah,” Princess Lida disappeared back to her reality, “Poppa does that.”
