The Star Spangled Tragedy

This was written in response to the first year of Project 2025. It was written before the excursion, incursion or illegal war, take your pick. That is another scandal for another poem!

Oh, say, can you see by 

The dawn's early light

That the false king is trying 

To destroy us outright?

He is using division and lies

To distract from what he's hiding 

That he's Putin's lap dog

Who does Putin's spying.

MAGA thought he could save them

But he has feet made of clay

When he turned his back on Ukraine 

We all felt betrayed.

Oh, say, can you see through 

The twilight's last gleaming

The assault on we, the people 

Mr. Miller is scheming?

He has masked his private army

Given them illegal powers

He says it's for our good

But he gets off when we cower.

The wannabe king must be stopped.

We must end the assault and division.

In a movement not fueled by violence,

But by a shared star-spangled vision.

Democracy requires liberty for all 

And justice for we the people.  

If we stand together we can take back our country 

By defeating the orange tide of evil.
