The Same Old Street

The Same Old Street depicts how we react when our world is turned upside down. We look for the same old street to find comfort.

The street we’re on

is not set in concrete,

it can break apart at anytime,

leaving us stranded

like an angry volcano.

It erupts our daily routine,

making us find an alternate route

when it hits at the least expected moment,

taking us off guard.

We’re left bewildered

wondering why,

as we hustle to find a detour

to the same old place,

hoping to comfort our soul.
