The Journey Is A Teacher

While you’re searching for the smartest way to start, the most impressive way to make an entry into an industry, the right moment to strike, the best climate under which to cultivate new habits, the morality of a new move, someone has begun their journey all the same. Without luggage, without any guarantee of enough food and water for the road. Without winter clothes, without any safe shelters under which to hide when storms strike.

They’ve begun without any guarantee of success, not knowing how the journey will turn out, unsure if it’s even wise to have begun in the first place.

But they have begun all the same. And their path welcomes them like teachers do to new students: come as thou art. The only admission requirement is the willingness to learn and become better.

Perhaps you’ve sat for long, seeing many toddlers like yourself rise, and walk. Fall, and rise again. And keep repeating the process till they walk away one day and forget they ever fell while you sit thinking they were perhaps born with some special luck.

You have sat observing for long. Why don’t you put into practice what you’ve seen others do many times to rise?

The process of beginning something new refines you if you begin and do not give up. It teaches you adjustments you must make. It shows you things within yourself you didn’t know existed. It sharpens your vision and make you view things you’re used to seeing from a new perspective.

The journey is a teacher. How can you learn something if you never start anything? How can you discover new knowledge If you never go to places within and without?

So much time is wasted searching for the best book to read. Why not begin with the book lying right in front of you?

So much time is wasted looking for the right partner. The person interested in you now might be the best opportunity to refine your character and work on certain weaknesses before you arrive at Mr. / Mrs. Right’s doorsteps.

Why have you let dilemmas and the opinions of the people around you keep you from having a voice? From living your truths which can only be discovered by living life based on your philosophy of how life should be. This unique perspective of life is never birthed overnight. It takes time. Years. But how do you get there if you spend your entire life living other people’s impressions of what they call a life?

The journey is a teacher. Living your best life now is never late. Perhaps all the mistakes of the past was a preparation for this moment. Why say it’s too late and waste all the best training you’ve received to make the most of the opportunity to begin now?

Start now. Start unprepared. Start clumsy. Start imperfect. Start wounded. Start ill. Start not in a good mood. Start broke. Start shattered. Start all the same. Start despite the good excuses you have not to begin now. The journey will take care of the rest.
