The Hasty Oath
/You made a hasty vow
I do not know
how much weight it bears
but time will be the witness
Will you abide by your oath
or will it burden you?
that rests on your resolve
on your integrity
Time moves on like a train
able to carry promises away
vicissitude, like the turbulent sea
may topple your loyalty
But I will not be the one
holding the string
that tethered me to your vow,
I will loosen my grip
when it begins to drift
