Tale Of Hope

I packed dreams

Alongside aspiration

Left them in storage

Headed for Desperation

Same, shabby old Bar

Familiar faces

All deep in thought

Minds in desolate places

Ordered whisky

Found an empty chair

Toasted self pity

Stinking scent everywhere

Drifted into bitter memories

Raged internally

Blamed Fate for my troubles

Had one drink too many

Hope appeared

Tried to push her away

Damn annoying Kid

Said she was here to stay

Forced me into conversation

Listened attentively

Altered my perception

Made me drink coffee

We left as sun rose

Headed for a lively cafè

Throng of positive people

Starting a new day

She retrieved my bags

Bought crossaints with honey

Sense of humour joined us

And we laughed, mainly at me
