What drove you to fly south

Did you face a struggle to survive

In your homeland

The blizzard should not be the reason

As you bear your ancestors’ genes

To survive on a land with a coat of snow

Was the scarcity of food source 

That forced you to move away

Where do you hail from

North Pole or Siberia 

Where artic foxes and ermines

Roam over tundra 

Snatching away your food

Will you be able to find 

Your way back home

Where you can meet a mate

Or you will overcome your loneliness

And stay in this southern land
