Sleep

Who says, it’s easy to sleep?

To let go of yourself, In the river of thought,

To accept defeat, in the war we once fought

To face the pain of guilt, that we know

Or regret of crimes, committed ages ago

When cultures are made, in belief and history,

And when Generations are spent, in the slavery of a mystery

We dig deep, in our darkness, just to find,

What is ours, and what, we can leave behind

Past is the price, the present has to pay,

To prepare us all, for come what may

But My empty pockets, don’t know what to keep

When dreams keep you awake, it’s not easy to sleep!
