Rainy Day In The Junction

A day in the rain

It is a mid-Saturday morning,

coffee in the garage, tinkering around,

looking out an open door, staying inside.

It is another rainy day in the Junction.

Can hear kids screaming

across the road.

Walls of their house

barely keeping them in,

waiting to go explore outside.

Kept in by a rainy day in the Junction.

Open the garage door

to see two brothers

on the next-door deck.

Enclosed talk amongst family

waiting for social hour

to take in the rainy day in the Junction.

Hearing the giggles

on the other side of the house.

Shift over to a see a mother and daughter

fixing a small garden

on the side of their home.

You can see who dragged who out

on this rainy day in the Junction.

Have to chuckle to myself.

A little wet not stopping a thing.

People still busy moving around

ignoring this rainy day in the Junction.
