Pleasant Chaos
/One-year old Penny and her friends chaotically entertain.
————
There was always something going on at the Reinholt’s home. The activities seemed to surround one-year old Penny. Two new residents had arrived as birthday guests thanks to daddy. A tan-colored Yorky named, Coffee Con Lache, or just “Coffee,” continually sought Penny’s attention. A darker colored fur-ball kitten with yellow eyes was named Tea Con Lémon (“Tea”. The kitten) spent most of the day hiding from a pesky Penny.
The three youngsters made it a practice to empty the toy basket and tease each other with a favorite toy. Coffee had claimed a rope knot, but Tea would maneuver it under a sofa making it inaccessible to the Yorky. Penny would drag the kitten’s yarn-tailed grey mouse past Tea’s hiding place, and delight at the kitten’s efforts to capture the small stuffed lure. Coffee, not to be outdone would put the small, black-faced, brown monkey into his doggie bed and lay on top of it.
When all of the toys had been removed from the basket and chaotically scattered about the house, interest would wane and the three would look at each other with an expression of “now what?” Then one of them would break the stalemate, grab a toy and the chase resumed.
The excitement was costly. Eventually all of them would collapse into a common pile of sleeping friends. It was during these quiet times that all toys found their ways back into the toy basket.
