Pages of Discipline
/The fog continues its stealth descent
with the lure to prolong my sleep
pages of discipline turn and burn
as the distant tides turn
I sleep and bleat like a comfortable sheep
the fog continues its stealth descent
drowsiness makes me blend
caution and comfort with
pages of discipline that turn and burn
so much to unlearn
thought they said rest was good, especially
when the fog begins its stealth descent
years of choosing comfort over what hurts
have piled up into a stagnant life torn out of
pages of discipline that turn and burn
i must awake and mend
what remains of a wasted night
as the fog continues its stealth descent
and pages of discipline turn and burn
