My Image, My Surrounding

The invigorating air of my serene village

emits the odor of industrial smoke now.

Pollution, if possesses a filthy image,

is reflected in the atmosphere somehow.

The mesmerizing rivers and lakes

now stink with our excretion.

Our exposed forests, silted dams

Remind us of our urbanization.

The land, once so fertile treasured,

is cracked by the blasts and bangs;

The herbal plants and trees wild,

Act as dealers of narcotic drugs.

Our decayed, shaky environment

replicates of our perverted mentality.

The eco-system, distorted and tainted,

Mimics our governance in anarchy.
