Mood Lift

The feelings were full of roses as I was with her at that moment

She comes smilingly and asks me where should I prefer to sit

I said anywhere and she said to make a choice

Then I chose a place which was at the end where no-one could disturb our solitude for once in a blue moon that came as bliss.

She looks at my face, smiles, and says - “So how have you been?”

I say I am good and as I was about to make a talk

The waiter arrives with a smile and takes the order

Comes back with a cigarette and coffee.

I keep gazing and looked at her face as we met after ages

She was astonished and asks what happened?

I nod my head with a smile

She laughs and says are you okay!

She reaches out her hand to the cigarette

Lits with a matchstick; inhales the smoke and releases

I looked into her eyes and then at thin lips as if the smoke has kissed her softly

Like Moodlift stars twinkling and cuddling the solitude briefly

We talked about hopes and aspirations

She was adamant about her ambitions

We also talked about how our journey started

But didn't come to the conclusion of how together it should be headed

Oh she had charms on me since long

Together we were at the moment after many storms

Knew that the houses built on the riverside will wash away

And the waves came in the form of time

Where the sun was losing its rays and then we had to part away

Oh I was looking at the never-ending horizon

Eyes wanted to see and body wanted to feel

But the sacred values were reigning

And the heart was once again filled with meanderings

Oh she was all water and sun that day

Listened to her tales as if a word that soothes the heart in gay

She shared her ambitions and dreams

Some were in the forms of stability and security of livings

Some were of cultures, family values, and her chantings

Oh I wandered into her sayings

And was lost into imagining the days as per her wanting

And she asked me after seeing me thoughtful; smoking, inhaling and exhaling

What happened, you seem lost somewhere in my sayings?

I said I was picturing the days and scenes

Where I felt and said it to her that

We can complement in some but need a sewing

Oh we could swim with wings and dreams

And said to her that I want her to be the queen

Where people should look up to her and say that they want to be like her,

Even when not knowing who she is and her journey so far

But to look at her with pride and dignity to continue looking at the star

Oh only the good sides of her

Not the real her

She might have demons

Like others too have

But she has a heart full of glitters

That flutters

Oh we smoked, along with the sip of a coffee, and listened to each other’s words

The smoke that came from the cigarettes made me think when it disappeared into the midst

Will we also get lost as it vanished in the twist of expectations and needs?

Oh she is full of youth, age, and opportunities

I wondered and wandered into the clouds filled with fears of necessities and vanities

Things might be on our side if only she could commit

As time is strong and fate might rule and take us far;

Leaving only memories of not making a decision when once there was a living tree.

Oh the time came and she asked me

Where should I drop you?

And I said from where you picked me

She took me with her on the magical rides that were once only a dream

Only to talk like angels in ears with breath touching the skin

That aroused millions of sentiments filled with dreams studded with creams

Oh that was a film

And it was my whim

I woke up again

With the same feeling

Of hollow settings.
