Monsieur Mouse Heart

A thinly veiled metaphor in freeform, about a sir with a mouse-like heart.

————

The curtain flutters

As tranquility shutters

At the violent quivers

Rending the air

Monsieur Mouse Heart

With brash brass shatters

The lazy lines which

Were previously there

The blustering booming

Comes close looming

His eyes are blaring

With words he bares

His mouse heart beating

With uncontrollable feeling

Dictates him leaning

Imparting scares

I know he’s trembled

Inside dissembled

Control he yearns for

Slips so scarce

Between his fingers

So he lingers

Summoning inches

Wherever he can

Monsieur Mouse Heart

What power you hark

With force that you grasp

Control not yet

You can’t take what

I won’t give you

You cannot steal

My inner self

All these dictates

Are your mistakes

Further send they

From your hold

All that you sought

Further dispersed

None would deign to

Stifled stay

Monsieur Mouse Heart

I know your actions

Fear inceptions

Your fear dictates

But I must tell you

The more you render

Others fearful

The greater cache

Of what you lose

So much you choose

To force space to

With your innate

Self unable

To make stable

You will always

Be afraid
