Magnificent, as You
/The sun never truly sets, nor does it rise.
Those are simply the earth’s habit of turning away
a slow rotation that hides what was always there.
We call it night,
yet the sun keeps burning
in a vault of silence,
a steady gold behind a curtain.
Neither are we
undone by the hours that claim us,
lessened when no one looks,
ended just because the room grew dark.
There is a force in us that needs no witness,
stirring through the drift of disbelief.
Even now—
in this moment when the mirror spits,
when the hands tremble,
when the world turns its polite gaze aside
you are pouring forth.
Magnificent.
Not because you are seen,
but because what lives in you
carries its own coronation.
