Linger
/They aren’t headed in your direction
Neither can they sense what you see ahead
Yet they’re the very people criss-crossing,
hissing, criticizing and distracting
rage on, raging bull
and when you grow weary and feel like giving up
linger a little longer
sometimes, what it takes to win
is the patience to ignore the noise
to fix your gaze on the ultimate goal,
lingering a little longer
