Knowing Tourist Season

Using the 'knowing' prompt Paulie, Princess Lida and Becky Sue interact with the visiting tourist

Inside the village, sitting outside the ‘Land Of Crosses’ gift shop, Becky Sue monitored a weary looking group getting back on the tour bus.

“Nice knowing you,” she childishly shouted honestly, watching them perform an exodus.

Standing up the gypsy, entered the small business, content with only browsing the different trinkets, “Becky Sue, it is nice to see you, here around all the tourists,” the cashier lady greeted.

“Mrs. Canyon,” Becky Sue responded acknowledging her history teacher, “you work here?”

“It keeps my interests going,” Mrs. Canyon, answered welcoming her student, “having someone stationed, who knows the area, helps the guests enjoy their holiday.”

“I can’t believe they walk all the way to the ‘Land of the Crosses’”

“We offer goat cart rides,” Mrs. Canyon pointed to the advertisement, “you know that is what happens when you are the greatest of all,” Mrs. Canyon halted the conversation answering the phone.

“Don’t I know,” Becky Sue pushed away from the counter, noticing the next goat cart ride departing.

“Excuse me,” Becky Sue screamed, “can I hop on the back?”

A short distance north from the village Princess Lida rested, occupying the balcony, watching over guests mingle around the ‘Land of the Crosses’.

“They all come here knowing what they want to see,” the future castle Queen commented, “but do they go home satisfied?”

Retreating back into her residential area following the reflection, Princess Lida grabbed a light jacket and proceeded towards the wooded path. Down the stairs and out the door, she soon confronted the warming sunshine. Knowing the direction, Princess Lida navigated through the shaded trees, hearing the soft breeze blowing, birds chirping, a peaceful tranquil atmosphere sent a message.

Seeing Paulie escorting the zebra Princess Lida discovered the destination’s end point and picked up the pace.

Completing all the zebra’s chores, Paulie shut the barn door and noticed an elderly couple snapping pictures.

“Can I help you?”

“Do you live here?” Asked the Grandfather image.

“Yes, this is a true rural historical landmark, and if you look over there you can see not only the land of crosses but the castle my Father built with his own bank account,” Paulie verbally guided.

Suddenly, the scheduled goat cart rolled passed the property and Becky Sue jumped, landing safely, thanking the driver.

“Paulie,” she screamed startling the mature senior pair.

“That is my gypsy friend,” Paulie introduced.

“A real live gypsy,” the Grandmother grinned.

“Actually, she is a vil,” Paulie clarified until interrupted.

“Paulie,” Princess Lida emerged leaving the woods behind.

“That is Princess Lida, she lives in the castle my Father built with his own bank account,”

“A real live royal,” the Grandmother smiled.

After the two girls shook the visitors’ hands, the trio agreed knowing a photo opportunity was the proper thing to do, “it is so nice to see young people holding everything together,” the appreciative two said.

“Well, its great knowing you all think our homeland is special,” Paulie told them giving one hundred percent as a host.
