Is It Even Real?

Is it now confined only to books,

Trying to achieve different standards or merely looks?

Is it now bounded only to physical touch,

Can’t be maintained throughout life as such?

Is it now tangled between the ropes of insecurity,

And not trusted with simple bonds of purity?

Is “love” now just a word and not a feeling,

Meant to undress each other like a fruit peeling?

Isn’t love about beautiful poetry, romance and perspective?

Isn’t it about being more lively than before,

One who was caged feels no pain anymore?

Isn’t love supposed to be a candle for those in dark,

An emotion which seeks permanence and on soul which leaves a mark?

Is it me or love or the world which fails,

Is it even real or just in music and fairytales?
