In The Balance

Right, and wrong

Good, and evil

Legal, and illegal

Guilt, and innocence

Villain, and hero

Dark, and light

It’s not so black and white

We live in shades of grey

Born of Man’s motives

When any may willingly sin

If driven so far

Is it theft

To steal to provide?

Is it murder

To kill to protect another?

Is it criminal

To refuse to follow an unjust law?

When Subsistence

Survival

Justice

Require taking a stand

Outside societal sanction

We do not live in the extremes

But rather in the balance

Between judgement and forgiveness

For it is not so black and white…
