In Its Presence

Perhaps the most tempting

of all the fruits

that I found myself trapped in

and voraciously gorging 

drowning in the bitterness

and sweetness of all things

is the apple that Eve has bitten

dancing in between

life's two opposing forces

whilst entertaining a myriad of roles

nonrouseable in execution

perfect and beautiful in each

but, Iam getting tired 

of all these empty consuming

for it never fills the soul

this tree of good and evil

as what I've told

balances itself without any help

in fact, it is- good on its own

so I pause 

and deeply breathe in

this profound realization

that it is okay

for me to let go

because I needed to awaken

my consciousness has been

gently nudging

reminding me once again

to walk in its presence.
