If, Schmiff

Inspired by Rudyard Kipling's poem "If"

If you could stick around while others mourn you

but don’t know you are listening while they do,

you might learn there were many who still scorn you

for offenses (now offline) and none too few—

but since their message tarried in arriving

and amends cannot be made at this late date,

there’s no sense in allowing their depriving

your eternal rest, for time has sealed your fate.
