Dwindling Fire

I sit by the dwindling fire

Reliving my memories of old

Sure bets and gambles

Losses and wins

Stories of destiny, told

Finding a warmth in the knowing

Of these visions which tally life’s fill

That the story’s not over

There’s more yet to come

For the fire, though waning, burns still
