After the Ball is Over

Honeymoons end. You can make the next chapter better—or worse.

Please don’t go there.

I’ve got a headache.

Don’t you care?

I love you for what you can do

but what you want tonight takes two.”

Such signs are rife throughout your life

if you’re still sleeping with your wife,

so don’t go there then shrug and stare

in disbelief.

Caveman Beware

You married her and should defer

to what she wants or you’ll incur

more pain and strife—just play your fife.

Her words cut deep.

So does a knife.
