A Halloween Night ...
/A Halloween Night of Love and Frights
Candles in carved Jack-o’-lanterns
paved the way to Leona’s porch.
A skeleton in the window
left me in a fragile state.
Blood rushed through my veins,
not because of the scary movie,
but because nothing is more awkward
than sitting here
with Leona, both of us wearing nothing at all,
watching “Friday the 13th.”
Forget the fireplace; her eyes are flames.
Leona moved her soft fingers
along my skin, crawling inside
a dose of dopamine,
expanding my pores,
dampening my palms.
A trick and a treat
hovered above my life.
Leona straddled me,
brought her mouth to my neck,
breathing, kissing, and dragging
her lips across my cheek.
My body shivered with tremors.
I’m falling for her again.
A trick, and a treat.
