Love You, Love You Not
/My love for you is
Brilliant, consistant
Flow of warm emotions,
Even if an irritant arises
I know it will, as with an
Oyster, produce a pearl,
I want to always touch
Your presence, as if
Running my fingers
Over the brush strokes
Of a master's painting,
To play you as a song
Upon ivory keys, I
Reread you in my
Mind like a well worn
Book, you are my
Favourite flavour to
Taste, the feel of
The ocean lapping at
My toes, my love is
Diving into the all of
You, joy filled, yet you
Are not here for you
Love me not so as time
Passes, my love will
Wilt like the petals of
A plucked rose and
Fade to the comfort of
A nice memory evoked
By an old photograph,
You will be just what
Once was and I will
Love other things.
