Timeless Friends

Friendships come and go throughout our lives. Some leave a mark, others are completely lost to time and proximity . But there are, if we are lucky, a few friendships not bound by time or space. They become woven  into the fabric of our lives and become part of who we are. These friendships remain in our heart's regardless of time and space. They are our timeless friends.

The day you packed and went away, 

I thought I'd lost a friend. 

That the closeness and the love we shared,

Would surely have to end. 

But as the days and weeks passed slowly by, 

I found that wasn't true. 

Because time and distance cannot destroy 

The bond I share with you. 

In the time we spent together, 

We created something rare. 

A blending of our very souls, 

A destiny to share. 

And even though we're miles apart, 

It's only time and space. 

I can still close my eyes 

And clearly see your face. 

I hear your voice, and feel your touch, 

And suddenly I smile. 

Because I know that when you do the same, 

We're together for a while. 

So though it seems you're not here with me, 

It's an illusion that's untrue. 

Because time and distance cannot destroy 

The bond I share with you. 

So along your way, if you need someone,

And you find you're all alone.

If the wind gets cold and the sun too hot, 

And you wish you had a home.

Close your eyes and think of me, 

Take all the strength I have to lend, 

Knowing that no matter where we are,

You and I are timeless friends.
