There Is No...

There Is No Fairy Godmother

A love story which had great potential but became very sad. Perhaps the saddest moment is yet to come...

————

Miranda loves the shine of other’s eyes upon her.

It builds her up. She is greedy but she doesn’t recognise that.

Doesn’t know herself.

One day she nabs a besotted prince,

For Miranda is lovely. Big eyes, long hair, sweet voice.

Certainly a girl on a mission.

Yet our prince is broken, shattered inside and

Miranda can only feed his need in her bent way.

So together they enchant,

They do look nice.

Applauded, loved, adored, praised.

A magical pair; Camelot has come

Shimmering with hope and promise

But the cracks can’t be fixed with gold

For they are deep and ugly.

There is no fairy godmother, who toasts them with gin and lime,

No blind devotees to uphold their failings.

Only disgruntled families

One silent, one vengeful.

So Miranda and her prince wobble, fly away, make bad mistakes

Trying to achieve an unentitled freedom.

One day he wakes up, realises what he gained now lost. Doesn’t like it one bit.

Miranda just dances ahead, an ice princess always up for character improvisation

But it’s way too late. She’s too carnivorous, needs fresh meat.

He will go, she will stay in her latest upgraded charade.

So please, let’s feel for the poor prince who’s already in jail

Incarcerated in his own feelings.
