The Verdict of History

They say

History will judge us

But is not history

The collective experience

Of all of our yesterdays

Added to all of our tomorrows?

We cannot change what we have done

Right and wrong

Evil and Good

Love and Hate

They brought us to where we are

But we control what we will next do

Let us dedicate ourselves

From this moment

To doing Good

Righting Wrongs

Redressing Injustice

Caring for the Sick

Lifting up the Needy

Making this a Just and Safe World

Perhaps through such action

We can give our Future

A better Past

Upon which to pass

Judgement

And our misdeeds

May be Redeemed
