The Same Shade Of Green

Longing for something better,

the grass on the other side

will always look greener, 

it's different, full of possibilities,

in reality it's a reflection of human nature

always looking for something better, 

never being content

so there's the rub

chasing something that doesn't exist.

Contentment is not found in what we have

but in the way we choose to see the world,

I have travelled pursuing shadows

only able to dance in my mind

but now I will dance to the music

that only I can hear,

under the same shade of green.
