The Saddest…

The Saddest Moment-Leaving The Bloodline

Poppa meets with Paulie, Princess Lida and Becky Sue to tell them about how he left the royal bloodline behind.

While the zebra grazed in the green field, ears perked, Poppa sat down at the picnic table with a three-person audience, his son, the villager and the royal.

“It was the saddest moment,” he told them, “When our immature actions based on what we cared for went too far and divided this land creating a division inside the barn.”

“What was the dispute about?” Princess Lida inquired.

“Same old, same old,” Poppa started, “your majesty, the difference between a royal and the aristocrat.”

“Money over blood, blood over money, right Poppa,” Paulie interjected.

“Now they are both privileges,” Becky Sue added, “and we villagers are dependent on them to make the proper decisions.”

“What started the skirmish?” Princess Lida asked.

Smiling, Poppa sat at the head of the table in his special chair, “well,”

One night back in the past, darkness fell upon Borderline Farms and a very young Poppa returned from the scholastic recreation activity, smitten about what he proposed.

“How dare you?” His sister exclaimed after reading about the engagement photo opportunity.

“Dare what?”

“You broke the bloodline,”

“But she is rich,”

“We have responsibilities to the village,” the younger sibling reminded her older brother, “and you, you should wait until the calling.”

“If I wait for the calling, I will be in my thirties,”

Time elapsed, Poppa fulfilled his obligations by exchanging vows with Momma and the two had enough finances to buy the property.

“This is my estate,” the sister angrily made the declaration during the reception. To keep things quiet and out of the media, the grandparents gave half the barn to the sister and a nice outpost on the other side.

“So, Poppa, you are not a royal anymore?” Princess Lida attempted clarifying.

“No, we are aristocrats, and we own this lucrative freehold while my sister’s blood controls the land on the other side,”

“And my castle?” Princess Lida pointed to herself.

“I funded the building, for your father,”

Taking the story confession in stride, Princess Lida stood up and graciously said goodbye, “Becky Sue,” she paused, “Prince Paulie I must be going.”

As she started departing Poppa made sure the area royal heard the truth, “breaking away from the bloodline was the saddest moment in my life but,”

“But you had me,” Paulie spoke up.

“That is right,” Princess Lida confirmed, “you had Prince Paulie.”
