The Road Traveled Back

The road is so hard.

It is littered with dark coffee stains

and stressed cigarette rings

with the thoughts of the confused.

I came into this world with nothing

and thought I would die with the same

no matter how hard I did try.

I wondered many times in silence

how having something would feel.

Gambling on the wrong road

took everything from my hands.

Leaving all I had was life.

Embracing that life was all I needed.

A deeper appreciation is accepted

to reach natural fulfillment

of life’s road traveled.
