Suffice It To Say

Yes, it was nice

I blossomed through your expressive eyes,

and thrived on your impressive smile,

It was a bastion of "laughs and cries",

For an anguished man, still juvenile

Suffice it to say,

Marching behind you with temper, too vile,

I was.

Like a bearer, carrying a palanquin, with vice

Plugged with a spile,

I was.

Ensuring water did not peril your cooked rice,

Suffice it to say

Still marching, counting hundreds of miles,

And hoping you could buy me hot fries,

Or offer me garments, at low price

Because I was a true male lover, not a pile

Of pears varying in size ..

Suffice it to say

I did my best to tie the knot,

And why not

Change my destiny with a roll of the dice,

Deluged not by the god-given tile

Fearless of the Tumbu flies,

When they spill their poisonous saliva,

And take a good sip of my impure blood.

Suffice it to say

The connection to you was tactile

Roses spread on your way

Emojis illuminating your dark profile,

There here above

And splashing so many words of love

With which we could reconcile

Alas! Into pieces, my dream, you smashed,

Like a soap box, I splintered

And with a groan,

I rushed to the cupola

To try to commit suicide ...

I know you know about that pain

That agony of refugees from Ukraine,

I know you would not go nuts,

And I might go insane

But suffice it to show that it was,

Too late and in vain…
