Saintly Intervention

Long ago, in a village, there lived two friends. One was Aarvi, 10 years old and Arnav, 15 years old. They used to do everything together. They were inseparable. They play, read, eat, gossip together. Arnav used to play flute which was euphoric to Aarvi. Every afternoon Arnav used to play flute and Aarvi used to listen silently. While listening to the sound of the flute, Aarvi used to get mesmerised in blissful world.

One day while they were playing and chasing each other they entered into a deep forest. They were so engrossed in their running and playing that they didn't notice that they had entered into the forest area.

Suddenly a hurricane came and they started crying and asking for help. But nobody came to help them. In that hurricane Arnav lost Aarvi. In the meantime, their parents got worried. They started searching for them. As they didn't find them in village, then they went inside the forest area. After searching for sometime they found Arnav was crying, sitting alone under a tree. One person asked him “where isAarvi?” Arnav sadly replied “I lost Aarvi.” But none from the village believed him. They thought that Arnav is making a story and they scolded him to speak the truth.

On a hot summer day, Arnav left home and lived like a kooky in that forest. And he played flute everyday afternoon in the same place where had lost Aarvi. Times changed, years passed and Arnav became matured into a young man.

One afternoon, a saint was passing by and saw a grief stricken Arnav. He tried to talk to him. He wanted to know the cause of his grief. So he went to Arnav to ask for his loneliness. After listening to the saint's voice, Arnav bowed to him and said that 15 years ago he had lost his love Aarvi here. Hearing this, the saint understood everything. Then he instructed Arnav to follow him to his hut. But Arnav denied. Then the saint forced him to go with him to his hut. So, Arnav went to his hut. After reaching the hut, the saint showed a girl in veils and told Arnav to marry his daughter. But Arnav refused to marry any other girl except Aarvi. The saint kept forcing Aarvi to marry his daughter again and again. Finally finding no other way out, Arnav agreed to marry his daughter. After marriage when Arnav wanted to see the face of the girl he had married as his wife, he lifted the veil. He was surprised to see her because she was Aarvi.
