Recuperating

"Recuperating" is a poem showing the frustration one gets while waiting to get better.

Counting down the days

waiting for a clean bill of health, 

hoping to get back 

to her normal routine. 

She’s tired of stretching out on her back,

plumping her pillows,

keeping her foot wrapped

with an ice pack.

She’s catching up

with a movie or two, 

but there’s only so much

she’s willing to do.

She’s getting impatient,

enough is enough,

she tears up the calendar   

and climbs over the wall,

hoping she doesn’t fall.
