Reclaiming the Echo

You found my demons

You lidded my box of hope

I drank the holy water from your font

I ate your body

I drank your guts

Your heartlessness is

higher than

the church’s steeple

thinner than

your stream of piss

wider than

your storming erection

Silence dangles its sparkling adventure

Like the carrot that makes you choke

Like that basil leaf that warms your soup

The olive tree that shadows the night

The innocents on their way back home

Let’s throw our heads back and laugh

Let’s reclaim the echo of despair
