Paradox

They console us─ luxuriate in the liberty─

when we are captivated in capitalism.

We tolerate what we must, else, violate,

appreciate what we need to denounce.

They assure us─ rejoice in the privacy─

while our actions are inspected and controlled.

We commit crime as if it were a religion,

adopt obscenity as if it were a holy profession,

They guarantee us─ capitalize the fraternity─

when it is marred by materialism.

We indulge in sins assuming it for generosity,

we blackmail taking it for social service.

Yes, we are living in a paradox world

where the malnourished mortgage honesty for foods;

the sham leaders purchase morality for empowerment.
