Following the legends of ancient sagas, it was a tenet of the madam of their unorthodox civic group, whom they lovingly referred to as “Mom,” that on each Halloween at midnight, exactly twelve hours after noon, they would team up with pals and slap each other silly, then swim a fast loop in the pool with their lap pal (solos weren’t allowed), their sleek keels glistening as if they were a living racecar driving stealthily under the radar on a level track, after which they’d drink a regal lager made from the hair of a deified dog god, strong enough to stun their nuts, which a reviled nun would deliver by kayak, then they’d drunkenly dine in a mood of doom while her pets would trot and step on each tort, leaving a spot on the tops of the stressed desserts which they would enjoy after an evil feast of live prey, a war of raw terror, from which they would emit, in due time, a fragrance that would stink up the knits of their mad dam during the annual debauchery in which she reveled.
